About Us
Janemark Winery and Vineyard is located in Southern Prince George’s County, a 45-minute drive south of our nation’s capital. The owners, Jane and Mark, wanted to bring their love of Napa Valley wine country to the east coast. Committed to sustainability, Janemark has successfully transformed fields that once grew tobacco into fields that produce some of the best grapes and wines that Maryland has to offer.
We planted our first vineyard consisting of Albarino, Vidal Blanc and Chambourcin in 2013 in the old tobacco fields Jane worked alongside her grandfather and has been in the family since 1877. In 2014 we purchased the land and barn that is now our tasting barn and planted Albarino, Petit Manseng and Barbera and transformed the old tobacco barn into a one of a kind wine tasting experience.
The winemaking process started in our garage in 2016 when we produced 165 cases. We have grown over the years and moved out of our garage into our production barn which was built in 2020, and now produce 1,500 cases a year. We enjoy making a variety of wines and feel there is a wine for every palate.
You will find Jane in the tasting room to welcome you and assist with your tasting and wine selections. You will see Mark working around the tasting room, winery, and vineyard. Our rustic barn is welcoming and is a great place to meet with friends and family to listen to live music during the warmer season or music playing in the background during the cooler months. You may purchase artisanal cheeses and charcuterie from Janemark or pack a picnic to enjoy.
We have events throughout the year and you may find our calendar on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
