Dr. Fiola’s annual Cultivar Tasting is back! Dr. Joe Fiola will conduct a controlled tasting of research samples (data!) made from the UMD’s research and commercial vineyard plots around the state.
Taste new (or new-to-you?) varieties (Verdelho, Gruner, Vermentino, Tempranillo, Montepulciano, Colombard. etc.) in various styles and hear where these vines are suited throughout the state.
While this tasting is targeted to vineyard and winemaking staff, everyone who is interested in wine grapes is welcome to attend!
–> This is an especially good opportunity for wineries or vineyards in planning! <–
Coffee and lunch are included in the registration fee.
This research and education program is supported via the USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant.
