NCAE This Week: |
The House and the Senate were both out this week. You are receiving this week’s News Briefs a day early as NCAE is going to be closed tomorrow in observance of Christmas Eve. Looking forward into the first few months of next year, agricultural employers are going to have their hands full with regulatory issues coming down the pike. The ANPRM for heat is going to wrap which will lead into a new proposed rulemaking in either late 2022 or early 2023. The Biden Administration’s proposed wage rule for H-2A will draw numerous comments from employers as well and NCAE has already begun meeting with attorneys and economists to craft a robust response. And, as we heard at the Labor Forum, the more substantial rewrite of the regulation initiated during the Trump Administration, will soon go final under this Administration. The US Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on the Biden Administration’s vaccine mandate for employers with more than 100 workers on January 7, 2022. And, with all of that going on, NCAE is looking forward to putting together a terrific Annual Meeting for our members in Georgetown on February 8-10, 2022. Join us in Georgetown! May peace be with you and have a very Merry Christmas! Michael |
